One Simple Exercise To Help Daily Back Stress. Chiropractor Plymouth MN.

A lot of the time we spend during the day our bodies are hunched over with our back in a flexed position, whether it’s working on a computer, driving, reading a book, texting, sitting in a chair, cooking, and the list goes on and on.  Spending all that time in flexion is unhealthy for our back causing added daily back stress and can lead to future back problems.  Here is a simple extension exercise I recommend doing daily to help counteract the flexion, as described below.

Lie on your stomach on the floor and prop yourself up so you are resting on your elbows; your back should be slightly arched.  It only needs to be done for a few minutes and it can be beneficial, but you may remain in that position as long as it doesn’t cause pain.

So the next time you are watching T.V., reading a book, or just relaxing after work take some time off the couch and lay on the floor in that position.  I think you’ll feel a big difference!
